The following defender was dragon type, and i completed a charged attack and did receive a count for the research. This is expected behaviour of the research task. I then took a team of fighting types (with fighting type charged attacks) in to the same gym. As expected, completing a charge attack against the chansey counted toward the research.
If it’s an encounter, the reward is a level 15 electabuzz. The other possible rewards for this quest, that aren’t encounters are: 2000 stardust 6 revives 3 super potions 1 max revive 1 rare candy. So if theres a normal type mon, use a fighting type move. Water, use grass/electric ect ect. Op · 3 yr. Tried that loads and nothing happening. Just did electrivire against a gyariados and it kept saying it was super effective, but when i let the charge bar fill up and a tapped the button to use it, nothing. Electric deals 2x damage to water, which means electric charge attacks (thunder, thunder bolt come to mind) count as super effective damage to pokemon with a water type.
